About Faculty
In 1971, College of Farabi was established as an "administrative and judicial affairs college" in the religious city of Qom. Since then, The Faculty of Law serves as the main faculty along with three other faculties of: Management and Accounting, Engineering, and Theology offering a variety of distant, virtual, and online course in addition to traditional courses and admitting students to B.A., B.Sc., M.A., M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs. As the oldest higher education center in Qom province, this faculty is considered an important venue for academic cooperation and contribution between the scientific organizations and religious sites and centers, especially, The Qom Seminary (hawza).
Since 1997, in the Faculty of Law offers a variety of renowned master's and doctoral programs nationwide. Currently, the faculty provides nine program / majors of: International Law, International Trade Law, Law of Registration of Documents and Real Estates, Criminal and Criminology, Private Law, Public Law, Islamic Jurisprudence and Economic Law, Oil and Gas Law, Intellectual Property Law) at M.A. level and five doctoral programs / majors of: International Law, Criminal Law, Private Law, Public Law, Oil and Gas Law. Also, unprecedented among Iranian universities, the faculty recently has started to offer a master's degree program on "legislative studies".
Since the beginning of its foundation, enjoying the legacy and presence of most of Iranian top Law professors, this college has been one of the most important centers for education and training of young lawyers in Iran.
The establishment of this faculty in the city of Qom and its proximity to The Qom Seminary has led to a deep connection and cooperation between academics and seminarians studying Iranian Sharia Law and Imami Jurisprudence. Furthermore, many seminarians have graduated from this college and most of the professors of this college have seminary education, some of which are currently lecturing at the Qom Seminary and its educational centers at the same time.
The faculty of Law currently has 30 faculty members active in 5 department of: Energy and International Trade Law, International Law, Criminal Law and Criminology, Private Law, and Public Law.
